When a die is “capped” by another coin and strikes other coins it is called a die cap and this is similar to brockage strike. However, a brockage strike is from being struck by another coin that is not a die cap. So there can be a bit of a crossover and confusion.
There’s early to late stage of this mint error and they all have different appearances so study is in order. Although you will be looking for distorted design details.
Struck through die caps can be worth well over an average of $100 and up, some in the thousands, and they can be one of the most valuable strike through errors.
