A beautiful half dollar! But you have to understand the grading companies use no verifiable or scientific standards. So one day it may be called one thing and the next it may be something else. Remember people are only paying for OPINION when they send a coin it.

And that is as good as any grading company will do also. The graders give their opinions based upon..."Well, I think it looks... ." That is why grades and designations can and do change if a coin is cracked out and re-submitted (even) to the same company.

If they had a setup for measuring something like overall light reflectivity measuring devices with a standardized universal scale, then there would be a way to call it definitely DCAM or Ultra etc. But it's all just guessing and opinion. And until someone makes a verifiable standard, then the designation is opinion/ink on a label not the actual state of the coin.

You would be surprised how many coins I thought where DCAM are only cameo.

Well...the INK says they are not DCAM...but people in the real world know better ;)
