1995 Double Chin Kennedy half dollar
Hello Friends,
I just found a 1995 Kennedy Half dollar with two chins. Is this a known error? If not, where do I send this coin to have someone look at it?

It is very hard to see in your pictures, but they do show something going on.
The following simple layout can help you get focused pictures.

If possible, post the Obverse and Reverse photos cropped. Then post a couple of the area in question, just couple of magnified (close-up) of the area (not 6-12).

I 'm sorry I already mailed my coin to Mr Wexler. I hope I didn't make a mistake

*** COIN UPDATE ***
I received my coin and a reply from Mr. Wexler. Turns out my coin has worthless mechanical doubling. I attached a picture of the letter from Mr. Wexler. He was so kind to explain to me how this type doubling occurs. As a novice coin collector, this means the world to me. I am going to keep the letter from Mr. Wexler along with my worthless coin. To me this is priceless!

Re: 1995 Double Chin Kennedy half dollar
I agree this would be something special to keep.
If I am seeing the degree of doubling correctly in the picture - its an extreme one I have not seen on the face of a Kennedy before (one of my specialty areas). Any possibility of a better picture (use the above info)? I would like to make up an educational graphic if its as extreme as the pictures seem to show (credit given of course).

Re: 1995 Double Chin Kennedy half dollar
Finally someone found a Kennedy half similar to my Kennedy Half that I tried sharing with you guys but no matter how hard I tried to point out the double chin and the double fore head you guys just kept on hammering me about their being some kind of substance on my coin. I can't stress enough that their is no substance on the coin that is aiding the appearance of Kennedy's profile being doubled. If it is MD and not a DDO then the MD on my coin beats this one hands down. Godspeed....

Re: 1995 Double Chin Kennedy half dollar
No, we proved it was strike doubling and more than one coin can have that. It’s not a doubled die either way and not worth the frustration nor this much energy.

Re: 1995 Double Chin Kennedy half dollar
Just a PERSONAL OPINION here and not an actual part of the hobby mindset as a whole.
MD not being a real "coin error," is not worth anything to almost all of the hobby. In a case like this coin I would personally value it more than face value as a great teaching tool. I like it! Of course being a Kennedy half specialist may have something to do with it as well
