Help on an 1830 Capped Bust

#1 Unread post by AverageStacker »

Ok peeps, looking for some help I'm trying to locate info on different dies that were used on the 1830 Capped Bust Half as I have some things on the reverse that I'd like to gain info on. The first is what appears to be a die crack running from the second S in States through the M in America. Secondly, there appears to be a CUD in the O of "OF". Lastly, in the area from S in Pluribus and the UN of Unum, there is some doubling as well as what I would think was a die chip on the S as that area is completely missing (incused lettering here). Here's some pics of what I'm referring to. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Cuds are only on the rim of a coin, die cracks are common on half dollars and so it some doubling. It's best to contact an expert in Bust half dollars. I think you can find someone at CONECA. Paul can confirm.
