It is not struck well for the grade it's supposed to be and the details are off. As I said in a PM hold the coin up to the screen against an authentic coin and study the details. Even the date digits are off.

The coin in the PCGS holder ("Authentic")... Should it not have a shallow upper N on the reverse. Is this a proof?
A business strike 1877 has a shallow N on the reverse.
The OP coin has 1 too many denticles at 126 on the obverse.
The digits are a poor match in details.

The OP thought this was a proof and since it doesn't have the business strike "shallow" N then I used a proof coin image.

Re: 1877-1c Indian Head penny
the coin has really good details when you hold it in your hand except the top of TES in state kind of faded, I have seen coin in PCGS website that looks like just the same as this one and also I read somewhere that there has been two different die for 1877 (in one of them digits almost touching and the other one no) , but anyway you’re the expert and thank you so much for your help ,
And the part that where I picked this coin,
It was in a collection that someone gifted to me and I hope that the other coin don’t be the same as this one cause there are over a thousand coins

N's are too strong. Read here about your coin...https://www.pcgs.com/news/altering-one- ... ndian-head

Re: 1877-1c Indian Head penny
It has nothing to do with touching, the digits are to large and are not of the same font. The details as in denticles and other areas are incorrect so this is based on the coin not matching any die pair.
