4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.

5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.

6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.

7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). 1885 grading advice

I know there are mixed feelings on the subject of grading. I admit that I am not the biggest endorser of it myself. Recently, I purchased an 1885 O morgan that I thought looked really nice and am thinking of getting it graded out of curiosity. I paid $45 for the coin. I tried to take the best pictures that I could. I still thing the coin looks somewhat better than the pics. Perhaps you could give me an honest idea if you think it would be a waste of money. I'm not the best at judging coin grades so your opinions will be helpful.

This coin has been scratched or cleaned, you can see the lines on the face and cheek.

darn.... not the answer I was looking for but thanks for the look. I still love this coin and that's all that matters to me since I don't intend to sell it.

can I get a detailed grade. At worse, I think lightly cleaned or scratched, but you're the experts.

I contacted the dealer and he has agreed to accept a return or exchange this coin for a better one that has no scratches or indication of cleaning. He said he didn't notice the scratches. if someone lightly rubs an eyeglass cleaning clothe across the surface, would it leave this kind of small scratches?

Yeah I'd take him up on that if what you agreed on was an uncirculated coin
