Is this considered a mint error

Looks like an off center punch to me. The coin is the exact same diameter as a normal nickel and the back looks normal.

Normally to qualify for off center the coin must be 5% and more. This one is not.

This coin is not struck off-center.
Minor mis-aligned hammer die, still within mint tolorances.

Yup...a MAD (misaligned die). Check ebay sold for these and see how far off they have to be to bring a premium. Yours is worth 5¢, but a fun find!
