Hello everyone!
I hope that i am doing this the right way as this is my first time using this forum to submit this information, anyways let's get into it.
I went to a local bank the other day to use their coin machine. I checked the coin kick back slot and found 2 interesting coins. One dime and one penny I am really brand new to coin collecting and really don't know where to look for this information so i was hoping someone here could help me with this.
The Dime:
To me from what i have been able to tell looks like a weak strike with, strike through, possible doubling on God, and the coin edge has a major flaw on the edge of both the obverse and reverse of the coin. Obverse is flattened and is visible from the E in LIBERTY and is noticeable all the way to IN in IN God WE TRUST. also, possible strike through or possible lamination error on Rosevelt's head. On the reverse edge damage is visible like the collar is folded over in the vicinity of UNITED, a mark on the P of E PLU mark visible on the top left side of the P and to the inside of the P, lack of any type of detail on the olive leaves, torch, and oak leaves also more collar damage and unknown damage on the left side of the coin. Pictures attached.
The Penny:
I don't know if the edge of the coin is what would be considered a washer damage, but it is wider than it should be and very very smooth and both the obverse and reverse sides looks like the top layer of the coin have been worn off exposing the clad same for both a portion of Lincoln's head and the Shield on the the reverse. Pictures attached.
I am hoping that these are mint errors on the penny and would love any help that you guys might be able to provide with these coins
