Post your Indian head cent album/collection!
Greetings, community.
Show us your collection of indian head cents! Beautiful and iconic design of U.S. coinage, a fine series to collect.
All entries/comments welcomed and appreciated.
Looking forward to seeing some of your pretty ladies!
I’ll start things off with my Dansco 7101, started this about three months ago, somehow completing most of the set but two coins.
All 1887 and newer dates is VF and up, still upgrading whenever I can.

Struck-through grease is today’s theme!
New upgrades for the album.
AU 1865-P fancy 5, upgraded current VF details, corroded, damaged specimen.
XF 1873-P closed 3, upgraded current VG specimen. (Liberty is weak on this specimen, likely caused by the same die plugging issue seen at the date, but ribbon details indicate XF.)

Awesome collection!
At some point in the near future, I will take a picture of mine and post it. You have some that I am still missing. These are my favorite coins to collect and search for.

Re: Post your Indian head cent album/collection!
Not the greatest pictures, and I had to add the text of what year the coins are. I don't have them printed in my folder nor have I written them in yet. The paper towel is behind the page to block the coin that is behind it on the next page. Some of them are pretty wore out, but always on the hunt for affordable upgrades.
Also, just noticed 2 things. (1) The 1858's I typed in as 1857. (2) I think the 1st 1860 is the rounded bust and the 2nd is the pointed bust. That's what I get trying to watch basketball and post here. LOL.

That is a nice looking set
BTW - what did you use to make the dates? They look great, and I am looking for something similar to use but on plastic pages (Encap brand).

Lol. Photoshop for now.
Since it didn't have dates to start with, I am going to write them in. Just trying to decide what to do with the difficult varieties. Leave a hole or put them at the end.

Re: Post your Indian head cent album/collection!
I wish I could find an inexpensive way to make dates like this that I could apply to my pages. I have a label maker, but the spaces between the coins are so small I have to take a lot of time to carefully cut the tape from the labelmaker in half lengthwise...not easy. Aligning many labels this small is also not easy.

Agreed. On other blank pages I have written them in with gold or silver fine tip felt pens, but you end up with inconsistencies with the handwriting.

Re: Post your Indian head cent album/collection!
Been quite some time since the last addition, been dealing with some real-life circumstances.
But I have returned with some more coins! (these are older images that I never got the chance to post until now, and future updates may be extremely limited as I now no longer have access to any of these albums and my access to coins has been greatly reduced.)
VF 1858-P SM-LT, upgraded current F details, cleaned specimen.
XF 1859-P, upgraded current F specimen.
MS details, obverse cleaned 1860-P rounded bust, upgraded current AU details, cleaned specimen.
AU details, cleaned, retoned 1868-P, upgraded current G specimen.
MS BN 1878-P, upgraded current G details, corroded specimen. (Funny for the longest time I just cannot find a decent 78-P, but a MS specimen just shows up one day)
AU 1885-P, upgraded current VF details, corroded specimen.
MS RB (altered surfaces/color? Color looks slightly off to me) 1895-P, upgraded current AU details, corroded specimen.
MS RD 1898-P, upgraded current AU specimen.
XF 1909-S, addition!

I was wrong about my access to coins being limited, so wrong that I currently work for a coin shop for $12 in coin credit per hour!
Purchased purely using credits earned.
AU 1857-P, upgraded current VF? specimen.
UNC details, environmental damage 1884-P, upgraded current XF details, corroded specimen.
AU 1890-P, upgraded current(can’t remember the grade, oops)specimen.

Re: Post your Indian head cent album/collection!
Can’t agree more!
Place is absolutely amazing, as well, it’s more of a stamp shop than a coin shop, an 1800’s house in a nice historical area converted into an office, then later a stamp shop.
Actually it isn’t really a shop, but a warehouse, as there is no actual retail display of anything, and boxes, crates, and piles stretch from floor to ceiling, with a narrow crack in between the piles for you to walk through. From what I heard, they never had time to organize anything, so there’s unsorted stuff from as early as 1981.
Nothing beats opening a paper box and seeing an assortment of random coins, and suddenly an VF details 1795-P large cent presents itself!
That AU 1857 FEC I just posted? Found that in a tin along with a dozen other VF-XF examples mixed in with random foreign coins and common wheat cents.
It’s a numismatist’s dream.
I have purchased an assortment of other coins from the shop too, would post those in a while. (Really gotten into early copper recently, such fascinating coins!)
