PCGS made a error plz go look on pcgs. I'm sending it back in
This is a great place! Loads of info. Thank you Daniel.
I have this 2021 P 1 cent shield graded by pcgs and when I got the coin back it wasn't graded correctly so I called them back and the supervisor said send it back we made a mistake so that's what I am going to do. My question is should I send it to Heritage auction while the market is good? I have loaded the coin picture in question and also you can on on pcgs to review the coin. Thank you

Oh OK. I have the Certificate number 45427046 I did get ahold of the supervisor at PCGS and they told me to send it back for a free review. After they correct the mistake it's going off to auction. It's a unique error. I just found DDO 1917 P Mercury dime. I posted it on YouTube and tagged Daniel. I am having issues with YouTube on why people can't leave a comment. I don't know if you are on Tiktok but I posted the Dime on there and my Name on there is Coinnut. Can you email me on your thoughts. I can try again on uploading pictures of the dime. Thank you, Have a great 2023!

That dime is not a doubled die, that is strike doubling, and even if it was a doubled die it would be a die variety not a mint error. Do you see why I preach education and respond the way I do? Also, PCGS doesn't attribute or label new varieties, you must send to a CONECA attributer for that.
You should also be looking up doubled die images at CONECA and doubleddie.com so you can ID them when you do find one and match so you can send off properly.
Again, the images are not showing a doubled die.

You posted pictures of a 1917 dime yet at the start you say your have a Lincoln cent.I have this 2021 P 1 cent shield graded by pcgs and when I got the coin back it wasn't graded correctly so I called them back and the supervisor said send it back we made a mistake so that's what I am going to do.
Each coin must have it's own thread or confusion results...just like now...why DID you post the pics of the dime anyway?

BTW - as to your cent...
I believe this is just a post mint damaged vise coin! The extra lettering and image are backwards and appear to be impressed into the penny. The REV shows damage to the same area where the squeezing was done.
PCGS labeled this with their own code 852825 for a regular strike meaning they also did not see it as an error. However, they should have sent it back to you as a damaged coin. I believe THIS is the error they want to correct. They normally do not respond to people!
You can duplicate this look yourself with with some tools very easily.
I am sorry you wasted your money sending something like this into PCGS.
Here are the pictures from their website:
So just exactly how DO two PCGS expert coin graders not see this as a damaged coin?
Maybe it was quitting time?

Hey...do you have a good picture of the slab front and back you could share? I have a number of slabs with errors made by the company and would like pics of yours if you have it still.

Re: PCGS made a error plz go look on pcgs. I'm sending it back in
I should elaborate. I have a couple of pictures of slabs (have been posted here at one time or another) where the grade is obviously very wrong and one showing an FG in a half which is slabbed as a No FG.
I have a lot of pictures in the essay in my signature of pics from the PCGS website of their slabbed halves (true view photos I believe they cal them) with the latter problem also.
I have been thinking it would be interesting to start a galleru sometime of things like this in the spirit of teaching newbies that automatically sending things in to be graded is not the way to use these companies and come out ahead.
There needs to be some online countering of the knee jerk reaction newbies get of "I have a rare coins so I need to send it in...," and then they get angry and hate the hobby forever when things do not work as they thought.
