1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.

2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.

3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.

Trying again with more information

#1 Unread post by SqueekysMom »

Hi, I did weigh the coins and I am going to present two with more information.

The 1981D dime weighs in at 2.23g
I am referencing the dime error at the Heritage auction past auctions.
LOT #5327 | SOLD FOR: $4,312.50 - 1964-D 10C Roosevelt Dime--Struck on a United States One Cent Alloy Planchet. Graded by PCGS

The 1995D Jefferson nickel weighs in at 4.89g
I am referencing the nickel error atthe Heritage auction past auctions.
LOT #12423 | SOLD FOR: $126.50 - 2005-P 5C Jefferson/Bison Nickel--Struck on an Improperly Annealed Planchet
( I've seen another one that is more dramatic but cannot find at this point)

Your coins are toned and have environmental damage. The weight is within mint specifications for a circulated coin and cents didn't weigh 2.23 grams. You can find coins like this in cup holders.
