1985s proof error

#1 Unread post by SilverFox »

Hello. I have a 1985s proof set. The penny has obvious error on obverse. There is line starting under the mint mark and continues through Lincoln's chest. Almost looks like he's been shot. I haven't seen another one like it.

I took the liberty by cropping and adjusting the size , but still don't have a definitive answer . I just don't want to speculate a this time .

Hey S's, since I am a speculator by nature, I think there is a 90% probability that it is a minor die crack, and not worth more than face value. Silver, it might serve better to look for known varieties.

Thank you for help. Did u see where it continues up to his shoulder? There's few raised areas in line. My lady actually picked this set up at a flea market cause she knows i collect. I just saw this easily without magnifying or anything.
