CANADIAN 1953 NICKEL SF NEAR LEAF
HI everyone, how are you all doing. My name is Donnie and i am a canadian poor excuse for a coin collector ever. I've lost more money than i've made, i will tell you that. Anyway, i'm still trying to learn but i could use some help if possible. I have 2 canadian 1953 nickels that i believe have the SF NEAR LEAF but i really could use a second opinion. I'm trying to get the best close-up picture possible and i will upload them soon. I'm just wondering if anybody could help me out. I would love to get them graded if they are those valuable 1953 nickels. Thank you very much.

Re: CANADIAN 1953 NICKEL SF NEAR LEAF
Hey D, near leaf, SF, no added value. What you want is a NSF - Near leaf. Sal, SF is shoulder fold, NSF no shoulder fold. It refers to a line on the queenies neck. Near leaf is how close the oak leaf is to the edge of the coin. Oh yeah, D please see the front page for tips on how to photograph, it will help you post better pics, and keep searching.ace1153 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:20 am HI everyone, how are you all doing. Hi everyone
SF is on the obverse means "shoulder fold" Elizabeth dress is visible. NSF no fold no matter how long you look at obverse.Hope info was helpful.

One of my favorite sets b/c of the variety of shape, design, metals used in a short run around the War years and after. Check it out if you have not seen it before. Inexpensive and a cool looking set that even has a hidden Morse Code message...seriously!
