1943 Lincoln Wheat cent copper? 3 grams

#1 Unread post by Showtime951 »

I am new to the numismatic world and would appreciate a response or your opinion of this coin.
I found this one bank roll hunting. I used a clear digital magnifying glass to have a closer look on a couple pictures that appear to look like a 1943. I did my best on pictures i can post more . Your thoughts on this will be appreciated.

It's 1949 or 1919 but not a 1943.

Thank you, what makes you see a 1919 or a 49? 3 and 9 comparison

I agree with Daniel.
Your pics were used below.
Compare the change of direction in the curves on the "spines" of the 3 to what is on your coin. The 3's spine is not a smooth curve like that of a 9.

I know it's a 1919 because teen cents don't have the same strike or appearance of coins from the 1940's, the design and rims are not exactly the same. I examined thousands of coins in my career.

I agree . It's a 1919. Sometimes we see what eyes wants to see. I speak from experience. :dunno
I have a CT Copper that I've been trying to ID for 10 years ! Narrowed it down to 2 out of 76 possibilities.
