1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. New Here! Should I continue to collect state quarters?
Hello all. I'm new to this blog. I've been collecting coins since I was little. I got really interested when the state quarters came out. I ended up in the military for the last 17 years and haven't collected much. I have about $1000 face value of early state quarter rolls that are mostly all uncirculated. As I learn more I am finding out they may not be the key to my collection. I want to shift towards silver coins, to include state quarters. I've checked eBay and the stuff I have only sells for a couple dollars over face, not including fees and everything. My question to everyone is, should I try to sell my rolls of uncirculated state quarters (1999-2002) or should I just drop them off at the bank and coin roll hunt new coins and invest differently? Thank you all for your help.

:welcome:
You should collect what you enjoy. I never collected the state quarters b/c, being clad, they lose face value as inflation marches on. But that's just my reasoning. Some people just collect them for the designs - which are fun to look for.
I have heard of some banks that, right now, are actually paying people to bring in rolls of change.
As to eBay, see what the sold auctions are on eBay and weigh the fees (and your time) against any potential profit.

I agree here......
"Collect" what you enjoy most
I know that some banking institutions are now paying a 'Premium' for coins that you bring them...
This will vary by the institution that you visit..
:eureka:
If you are aware that you have the 2004 Wis. state quarters, I would definitely check them for the "Low Leaf/High Leaf" variety

Do check for the mentioned varieties but the fees would eat up any money made on these coins, maybe take a loss selling at ebay. Collect what you like. I take ours to the bank when I get them.

Thank you guys for the replies. I decided to roll them up and take them to the bank.. Kinda sucks rolling up shinny new coins. I kept one roll of each state P& D. Found 1889 Indian Head cent rolling my pennies.. Going to hunt for silver and old coins.. Thanks again.
