4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. 1923 Peace Dollar with Earring
This 1923 Peace Dollar seems to have the VAM Earring known among the 1922 Peace Dollar. No web search that I found mentions anything about some 1923's containing this mint error. Would you all say that this looks the same as the known 1922 error & how could it have carried over to 1923? Any speculation or known information about this coin would be helpful. Thanks!

Re: 1923 Peace Dollar with Earring
I see what you mean.. looks like it's gouged. I'm noticing all kinds of strange things on this coin. For example, there's what appears to be a tiny "st" bellow the bust and above the "23". Other patterns can faintly be seen, almost like there's another coin that this was struck over the top of. Has that ever been a practice, such as converting Morgans to Peace Dollars without melting?

Re: 1923 Peace Dollar with Earring
It's a very common practice for the non–seasoned experts to "see" objects and figures on a coins surface as a result of contact marks from circulation, .....that do not actually exist....
:eureka:
This is called "pareidolia" .....

Haha! I have pareidolia! I could see that...Haha. Here, I thought it was potentially some kind of incripted message from a secret society. Wow, I must be on the fast track to be only into coins for 2 weeks and in alignment with those considered "non-seasoned experts". lol:

I only say "non–seasoned", as I have been doing this for 49 years now...........
