1935 nickel DDR?

#1 Unread post by bryonhei »

My son and I are just getting started and found this nickel but I am unsure if it is a DDR or not any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

Here are some updated pics. How do you get such close pictures of coins?

Thanks for the help Daniel!

Welcome to the forum :welcome:

I wish I could tell you if your coin is DDR but I can see enough details. Can you post a closer picture?

The obverse appears to have some strike doubling on the LIBERTY, but since your said DDR which implies a Doubled Die Reverse then you're talking reverse. I can see what might be a split in the C, but it's still not detailed enough for me to say for sure.

I use the macro mode setting on my camera and hold the camera as steady as I can, or use something to brase my hand like a small tripod or chair.

It's great that you're doing this with your son, my kids collect as well.
