1943-D/D

I couldn't find another example with the metal exstending from the top of the D. Of course, the "object" could be a zinc plating issue. Found in a coin collection we purchased.

Very nice find. The top one is d/d is the bottom one d/s?

No. It's the same coin, different angle. I know the "stem" coming off the D didn't show up in the first image because of the shadow.

Nice coin, I have always looked for one in new rolls but no success. The rolls were bu and I got them reasonable. They are pricey!!!

Nice one Daniel, have you tried matching it on coppercoins ? I think it may be #4, but the lighting and orientation of the top pic make it difficult.

I looked over coppercoins listings, but I was in a rush. Here's some images of the entire coin. I need to post better images of the mint mark later. I don't believe it's number 4.

Whne you get time to check on coppercoins, key in on the location as that does not change from die to die.This one may be worth sending to Bob Piazza as it is nice enough condition for a premium or a new listing.
