1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Our community is not a soap box for complaining or drama, so please refrain from doing so here.[/size]

Re: 1972 D NO FG???
Because it's not graded as such, unfortunately we could tell you 100% it is or that it isn't, but until this in labeled in a reputable slab as a NO FG then it's a moot point.

Re: 1972 D NO FG???
Please take a look at my signature, read the PDF about NO FG halves - internal links to everything in the paper so you can see for yourself.
The slabbing companies (trying to not sound to negative) are somewhat clueless about this rookie level subject.
Note the lack of feathers and claw detail on yours? The FG was polished off the die accidentally to remove clash marks and extend the length of the die. There is supposed to be no trace of the letters for the it t be a No FG label. But many slabbed ones have (at least) those traces of the lettering as well as full letters being visible.
So...as said above beware of slabbed ones. It has cost some collectors thousands of dollars buying top grade coins that are worth .50¢.
You just never know if the companies will/will not (take the extra fee you would have to pay them to) put "No FG" on the label.
Unfortunately the companies have created a gray area for people who want to be honest and collect/sell these.

Common grading company shortcomings & resulting co$tly mi$take$ to collectors (using Kennedy No FG halves):

makes total sense- found roll hunting- just trying to assess whether it would even be worth it to try for the designation, as the sole focus of submitting such a coin would be profit or a lack thereof
