1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Our community is not a soap box for complaining or drama, so please refrain from doing so here.[/size]

Like Thatgirl42 said. If you think you have a discovery coin post it on CONECAs' forum. Either that or you can send it into a TGP and try to have them attribute it. Of course you more than likely lose money as it will not be an variety or error and they do not refund your money when YOU are wrong. Plan and simple.

Re: 1979 p DDO
If TPGS don't have it listed in their price guide they will not put it on the label and most DDO's are not worth the submission and membership fees. CONECA forum is the best place.

Re: 1979 p DDO
For clarification: Under "Fair Use" it is perfectly legal and legit to post non public domain material in an educational context. But full attribution should be present such as a statement of "Original Photo:https://portsmouthcoinshop.com/."...should not post PCGS photos here...
Second - It appears what you see as doubling in your fist picture disappears when the coin is show at a different angle. Reflection doubling can do this.
Third: I am assuming from your post showing your coin in hand that you are fairly new to coins? please know that if you don;t handle coins only by the edges, finger oils can cause deterioration over time. You would not want this on a valuable coin.
Fourth:
This is known as an ad hominem response. Attacking character rather than legitimate discussion is an accepted (in the psychological and world of official debate) subconscious admission by the person using such that they feel cornered and don't know what they are talking about.Well if you had a bit of intelligence you would zoom in on the date and see the 9 completely separated, I don’t need to explain to you my friend simply because if it was your coin a comment like yours would make yourself laugh haha
If this was an official debate (you know, like college teams?), the other team would be declared the obvious winner. I have "shut down" a lawyer before with this fact b/c he knew what it meant, but was hoping I did not.
Yes...I was a teacher...can't you tell?
In other words...please be nice. We try (and sometimes also fail).
You took offense quickly at something meant instead to target legal usage of non public domain material.

Dear Earle42,
Thank you for sharing your opinion, let me clarify some stuff for you,
1st- no I’m not new to coins but I am new to this forum, after finding my collection in the storage after 10 years I decided to sort and organize them since I recently retired myself and have plenty of time.
2nd- I am an Aspergers / ADHD individual who tends to be extremely logical, some say I’m gifted maybe because I have a 140+ IQ and with not even an high school diploma I retired myself from being a high producer mortgage loan officer at the age of 30.
3rd- the reflection you are referring to is caused by a led light on the microscope and anyone who actually deals with coins and likes to see the details knows that.
4th- emotions don’t win you a case in court but logic would, I did not attack anyone’s character simply because I did not send them an invitation to comment on the post attacking me first and I would wanted to see someone ask, hey what do you see that we don’t but no one did.
5th- I actually posted that only for Paul and Daniel to see and I messaged Paul before posting simply because I was not able to send a photo in a private message.
Respect is earned not given, you might have thousands of post but are you an expert?! I’m not either, I came here with a friendly manners but I don’t see any welcoming hands.
Oh also let me mention this I don’t care about the value of the coins, want me to show you ? I just washed a 1966 fs801 and made it shiny because I like it like that.
Thanks for your time

I agree with Paul. Who for the record is a expert. He just happens to be the CONECA Wisconsin State Representative (Master Die Examiner.). That just might give you some idea as to what you may be told on the CONECA forum.

Re: 1979 p DDO
Not everyone uses the same equipment to post pictures. Not every microscope has the same lighting. There is a lot of info online on coin forums about how to take pictures and people experimenting with coin lighting in pictures.3rd- the reflection you are referring to is caused by a led light on the microscope and anyone who actually deals with coins and likes to see the details knows that.
The Aspergers makes me now understand why you took the simple reply as an attack. I am familiar with this as I have had friends diagnosed with this.
You will find that the people who are here the most often do not normally make attacks on anyone b/c we want to help people, not chase them away.
As to the court case concept...we wish logic prevailed. In real life this is not always the case. The lawyer I spoke of knew he was out of options and so did the only thing he could to hopefully make me look the emotional fool. He tried to bait me into becoming emotional instead of standing by the facts. He looked surprised when I said he was using an ad hominem approach and therefore invalidating himself. He went no further.
Anyway...please do not assume the regulars on here are going to be trying to make you feel small or dumb. We are here to help. We enjoy helping or we wouldn't spend as much time as we do here daily.
Sometimes we might not "flower up" a response (you get the idea), but its just time being short that produces what might seem to be non-friendly replies.
