1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. I would not use anything more than a 15x loupe on your coins, if you look this close you will see all kinds of things that are nothing to speak off.

This is just a pic to show you exactly what I was looking at that made me question it and also to test out my new app that let's me arrow the picture. I agree about the magnification issue.

Re: 1972 ddo?
My worst enemy when I started taking a close look at coins was a digital microscope… you are guaranteed to see a lot of everything you think is something that end up being nothing. Get comfortable using 10 -15 times magnification and IF you feel you’ve got something THEN take a closer look. 99.9 percent of coins I looked at under microscope looked “doubled” 99.8 percent were NOT. Good luck to you and happy hunting .

Re: 1972 ddo?
Yes i have a 15x 30x loupe but the lens is so small and so I switched to a digital. I think as I learn more the less I'll be mistaking normal stuff as doubled dies or rpms

I echo this as wellCoinaddict411 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 5:29 pm Yes i have a 15x 30x loupe but the lens is so small and so I switched to a digital. I think as I learn more the less I'll be mistaking normal stuff as doubled dies or rpms
It certainly took me training my eyes to be able to use the loupe lol I ran myself MAD the first month thinking the majority of my coins were “rare” and “highly desirable”
Much luck to you during Your journey
