1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). New guy hope I am doing this right and following forum rules
Hi so I posted earlier today about a dime I had found and am really grateful for the replies. May not be worth much but I still think its pretty cool anyways I have been going through a lot of this stuff and I found a small plastic container with a few coins in them that look really really dinged up. I know this is probably most likely not a mint error or mint damaged group of coins but I would love an idea of what they could be. The one I am posting is form what I can tell an 1857?? flying eagle penny. Its pretty dinged up but it does strike me as odd that these coins were set off to the side. My in-laws were gifted all this stuff from one of their customers but can't really tell me to much cause he passed on like 30 years ago. Anyways I hope 1857 flying eagle penny scuffed up.jpg[/attachment]am not breaking forum rules and thanks for any help or advice.

Definitely a "Flying Eagle Cent" . Either 1857 or 1858 as they only made them in 1856 Rare and 1857,1858 .

cool I have two more that are in way better shape but again I am really really new to this and I do not want to get overly excited I know better than to trust any one who looks at something your have tells you its worthless and then proceeds to offer to give you a "good deal," on it and the last few guys who have taken a look at it have given me that song an dance. It probably is just a bunch of stuff worth only melt but I feel like there has gotta be at least one coin in here worth a little bit to the right person lol not that I am looking to sell I really just wanna know what I potentially have.

I agree...
1857 or 1858 Flying Eagle Cent
This coin is considered a "Cull"

So is a cull coin anything worth getting excited ablut or is it only cool cause I like an old coin that looks like it went through a woodchipper cause well it means its been places and done things. I like a coin with some character.
