Not strange at all, just die deterioration.

How many dies? Only ever one hammer die and one anvil die for each coin.
Sometimes those dies have a doubled image engraved into them, thus making a doubled die coin when used.

Die deterioration doubling (etc.) happens as the die is used over and over.
Common grading company shortcomings & resulting co$tly mi$take$ to collectors (using Kennedy No FG halves):

My apologies, I was in a rush to get to work and was more curious about it being a die or strike error.

There appears to be an extra "T" underneath the LIBERTY

You're looking at coins too close and looking for things that are not possible or even there. This is die deterioration with some mechanical doubling and circulation or counting-rolling machine damage. Very normal for circulated coins that have passed through a few banks.

I appreciate the help but this was just me taking more pictures for further determination, not looking too close. I saw the scratches on the front when I got it from a bank roll but then turned it over and simply noticed the "AMERICAN SAMOA' looking off like you can see in the last picture of my last supply. It being a West Point Mint and all I thought I'd post it.

Respectfully I've a fair amount of your guides along with studying Wexlers in reference to true double die's versus machine doubling and die deterioration. Notches and seraphs being key. The lettering has notches and seraphs so I simply thought it could be a new double die. Thanks.

This forum isn't even for potential "discovery" coins, you post those at CONECA's forum on their website. No one can attribute a new variety based on images.

You coin is just not a doubled die.
