1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). As Paul has always stated it is hard to tell if it is a RPM through photos. Given that, I do not see a D/D. As far as a DDO, no it is a Doubled Die

Posted images do not provide enough detail to determine any variety here

Re: 1964 D Dime- please look at the mint mark.
Does anyone know anybody in the eastern part of North Carolina who is an honest coin dealer with expertise in the field. I don’t want to sell anything. Just want to have someone I can show the actual coin to and give me some ideas on how to identify things properly. About me.... I retired from a career where I had to analyze and make determinations and serious decisions based on physical facts and realize pictures are not always as they seem. So I want to get things right. And definitely don’t want to post things here that are meaningless. You guys have enough to view and I don’t want to be that person who post crap. Any info would be beneficial.

Also when looking at it from above. You can clearly see the other mint mark. In the zoomed pic above you can see the separation of the two. Not asking for a definitive answer just guidance.

Your pictures quite blurry....... but it does not appear to be a RPM.....?
What might help you the most, instead of going to a local dealer, is to spend some time scouring the Internet looking at examples of questions you have. Keep in mind that "Everything on the Internet Is True", kidding of course.
If you stick to searching out the major well-known numismatists....... they can be a treasure trove of information, with images.
Being able to look at a firsthand, doesn't look like any of these:

Amazing Info.... Here is a close up of my coin using a microscope. Looks to be RPM-002. Please see the link above by Paul and look at RPM-002 to compare to my pics.

Paul, I search for die cavity wear. The only thing that showed up was die deterioration. Giving that can it be assumed that die cavity wear is die deterioration?

Next, you should research "Die Markers" for confirmation of your findings

Paul.
Do you have or know of a on-line reference in which I can read/study Die Cavity Wear?

Re: 1964 D Dime- please look at the mint mark.
I just got back in, and really didn't have a chance to look around much...... but wanted to get back to you as soon as I could
I used the term "Die Cavity Wear"....... in the sense that, being an old timer, you do not see this on any of the other devices
Of course I would need to see it "In Hand" to give you a positive determination on the type of so-called "Strike Doubling"
Keep in mind that a fresh die will have a sharper "Edge" to the devices on the coin with respect to the field ............. after repetitive striking, these "Edges" will lose their sharpness..... In turn, allowing for what some
may call "creep/squeeze out/overflow" of metal from the edge of the device under striking pressure
If you take a little time to inspect the images carefully, you'll see that there is no "Notching"
