Re: 1984 D Jefferson Nickle DDR
Thanks for the response. I am still new to this and was excited at the find. Found the hobby in retirement. I am considering sending it off but not sure if it is worth it. I saw another one like it on the PCGS web site that was a little better quality than this one and based on that I thought it may be good for me to have it graded for my collection.

PCGS #: 84113
Its an MS 67 Full step. If you look at the coin the lettering on the reverse it is I would say a exact or pretty close match.

Re: 1984 D Jefferson Nickle DDR
OK I am totally confused. The link that is posted for the PCGS #84113 is not even a Doubled Die, but a 1984-D FS Regular Strick. I do not see any listings for a 1984-D DDO or DDR. I know I'm going blind but I'm not that blind yet.

Re: 1984 D Jefferson Nickle DDR
That is the coin PCGS # 84113. I used the magnifier provided by PCGS that allows a close up view. I looked over the lettering on the reverse and it is very similar from what I can see. I might be saying something you guys already know and apologize if so. I tried to copy the pic from PCGS and zoom in on it but it was not sufficient quality to post so all I can do is explain what I am seeing. It is noticeable on the United States of America at the bottom and on the e pluribs unum at the top on the reverse of the coin.

Here is the best I could do to show the similarity. This image is from the PCGS photo.

There also is a misconception abut sending coins to PCGS.
PCGS does not try to identify errors for people. You would end up with a face value slabbed nickel and be out the money they will charge to do it.
