2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. 2003 Illinois State quarter.
I found this 2003 Illinois State quarter with a Clash of a 2020 National Forest quarter on the obverse. Look at in God we trust and you can make out one of the bats face and ear. I am curious to find out if it is possible for a 2003 quarter to be struck through a 2020 quarter. Pardon me if my terminology is wrong. I am just a amateur Oddity coin collector. Thank you

I’m saying this to be helpful, but you should crop the photos to be able to see the detail.
If on a PC/Mac there are a few free good photo editing sites. I use PhotoScape.
Or if all you have is a phone most have basic editing. I just did this on iPhone.
The more detail the better for the experts to try and help you.

Re: 2003 Illinois State quarter.
Most likely this is what is generically called a "vise coin." One coin's impression is squeezed into another using a vice or other means. A really simple way to tell is that any wording from the coin that was impressed is backwards. I think I see backwards lettering. As DanB said - better and cropped pics will always help.

Re: 2003 Illinois State quarter.
Is a little difficult to see in your images that you have posted.....
I do not see this as a "Vice" coin.
I think what you're looking at is a clear foreign substance on the surface of the coin, that has picked up the mirror image of another coin up against it

Re: 2003 Illinois State quarter.
Thank you everyone for the input. I'm sorry for the crappy photos! My cell phone is 12 years old and it's the only way I can upload pictures at the moment. I will repost better pictures when I have the opportunity. Thanks everyone for the help
