It's not Silver, Cmon ! It's been altered atmospherically or by human hands . Either way, a weight test and edge rub will tell you the truth my friend .
By the way, get some hand cream. LOL . Just joking

Well I didn't mean actually silver. I saw one on couch collectibles that looks almost identical said wrong planchet. I am kinda new to coins as you can tell I've been a carpenter all my life and an honest person so kinda bewilders me the crap people to get over on another but thanks for your help

What does it weigh? I found one from an old Heritage Auction that was NGC certified as a cent struck on a dime planchet. However it was a 1981 D mint mark.

You’re probably 99% correct it’s plated and PMD but let’s see what the weight is.

It does look like a chemistry class plated coin (ask me how I know 😊). As people have said, the weight should tell.

Also, for future reference, when you find an unusual coin, please hold it by the edges. Oils from our hands and fingers can mar a coin. So if you had one that looked brand new, it might pick up a fingerprint etc. and lose possible value.

It's normal, damaged, zinc and not silver planchet.
