1974 aluminum penny

#1 Unread post by muzzman »

What do you think? It's spot on with the weight of 0.93 grams as required, I'm not sure but I think that's what they call finning. Correct me if I'm wrong. It does have the initials well what is supposed to be initials with low pressure to fully make them. You be the judge. Me, myself, I think I would still send it in just because of the weight and it being aluminum alloy.

And yes I know all about the fakes on line. I'm sure someone is going to mention them. I decided to save you the time.

these are not illegal to have. i read everything on them. the only one that was in question was the denver minted one. the ones from philly was legally and willfully handed out, the fbi closed the case in 1976 and said there was no criminal intent on anyone who has them. the judge in the case of the denver minted one sided with the man who had it and said the mint failed to prove their case. only 2 are known. so yes they are legal.

I would do research and compare to the images of the one that was already graded

Hope it is legit, as that is the find of a life time(as well as the grading fee of a life time, if it is legit, it will be VERY expensive to grade)

Until it is sent off this is the end of the discussion, this forum and is not for debating coins like this, that is not how you handle potentially rare coins.
