2001 KY State Qtr.
Obverse
Aound the edge of the rim:
Above ME in America
Edge below P mint mark
Below A of Dollar
Below 2nd L of Dollar
I know this is no big deal, super awesome, big deal, stop the presses and send me a trophy thing, but I noticed it, have not seen of it anyplace and would like to know what caused it. 4 little wedge like marks that seem to get smaller in a clockwise direction. Almost looks like something was "skipping".
Any idea what caused this? Is it some kinda collar clashing type thing? Or just lne of them, youll never know things that falls under " peripheral die damage"?
If i dont ask, i wont know. If i dont know, i wont get any better.
Thanks guys

I can't tell what it is. I can see the marks. Are they raised?

Keep in mind, when you make a post with questions about your images, please indicate what you are looking at/asking about, with an arrow, ........or circle the exact item(s) in question....
Re: 2001 KY Qtr. Edge skipping marks?
Yes, Dan, they are raised and each have a triangular kinda wedge shape to them. As said, they diminish in size/ boldness as they go...clockwise dir....I listed the exact locations of the marks in question in the orig post, but here are arrows.

Re: 2001 KY Qtr. Edge skipping marks?
i feel like its a collar error. there is what they call a shimmy collar. this is rare but does happen, mostly on quarters. look into collar errors
Re: 2001 KY Qtr. Edge skipping marks?
Collar shimmy is listed on error ref but the pics they have dont look anything like what I have, unless mine is just a very slight case of it. Ill have to read it closer again. I can see why youd say that though. It def looks like these marks were made in a " skipping" or " shimmy" type fashion. Im adding more pics, as clean and close as i coud get, if it helps out at all. Again, i know this isnt some major thing, but id lime to figure oug how it happened.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!
