1945 D Walking Liberty half Dollar Error

#1 Unread post by aaron.ap »

I Found this in a lot of walking liberty half dollars I bought from my coin dealer. The D mint has a tail on it that is minted in not a scratch. I brought it back to my coin dealer and he stated the mint makes tuns of mint errors. Wanted to get your input on it was thinking about grading it. I have never seen this before nor had the coin dealer. Would like your feed back.

This is die fatigue and what you're seeing is stress lines and the metal wearing and die face breaking down. It is common but most dealers just don't pay attention so why he hasn't seen it before. It adds no value so it is not worth sending off.
