1968 Nickel error?

#1 Unread post by Canonoch »

Hi everyone, well as I keep going through my pocket change. I found a 1968 Nickel a part of its edge.

My first thought was that something hammered the edge but as I looked at it through my loop. The edge is not flattened but rather like it was cut. As it narrows into the body of the coin when looked at it from the edge. What are your thoughts?

I agree with Palh1. It is always a good idea to post images of both sides of the coin and a closeup of the area in question.
Unfortunately your image gets blurry right where the missing metal is.
Can you post another image of the rim area directly opposite the missing metal?
