very very new to coins need some help figuring this coin out

Good Day Coin Friends,!!!!
I am very very new to coins. My grandparents passed on leaving me with a lot of old old coins of which I know very little about.
The first coin I need some glorious advice on is A : 1908 Indian Head 5 dollar gold coin that has a very very very faint D mint mark that you can only see if you zoom in on a picture, as well as the beak of the eagle is colored !!!!
please and advice that is out there I am in need of it

This may be a 1908-D Half Eagle ($5) Gold Coin (Mintage of 118,000), I'm going to let the Experts decide if it's real or fake since it's a rare specimen & it's been one of the most faked coins of the 21st Century Half Eagle coins.

Based on these images the coin can't be authenticated, I recommend taking this to a dealer in person or sending to ANACS and let them grade and authentic this coin.

in my area the coin guy is a greasy mean aardvark he tried to offer me the what the coin was worth in just its gold weight in he is not a trustworthy person to be dealing with .
that is why I have come to this lovely community of coin people.
I have weighted the coin also have taken pics with current date to see if this helps answer more questions
I also made a short 25 second video of me dropping the coin on a scale a few times. I cant seem figure out how to upload it on here

The weight is correct with this specimen, it's supposed to weigh 8.36 grams.

Here's a example of one on PCGS, I recommend comparing your specimen to the authenticated ones.

(Also, I strongly recommend not dropping it, it could be a valuable specimen, a 1908-D Half Eagle is valuable with 148,000 Minted, even if this is in circulated condition, it's worth over $700.)

I send almost all of mine off, there's too many fakes and they're gold, weigh normal and almost look identical to the real deal.

We can authenticate your coin for you using images. Counterfeit coins can be gold, most are, and they can weigh normal. ANACS is your best option.

Hi Coin friends,
I have some updated photos for this 1908-D 5 dollar Indian head gold coin,
The mint mark is a D but it is very lightly pressed into the coin, almost ghostly.
There is very beautiful coin in very super good condition with wonderful color toning as well as some doubling on it as well.
You can see the doubling on the date, on the words God, dollars and America, there is stellar color toning on the wing ends and beak of eagle, the head side of the coin has a very colorful Indian as the head band has color, and his full neck are colored very beautifully. i fell like this coin is of higher quality than an uncirculated version Please tell me what your thoughts are on this coin

As what is already being said, this needed to be sent off and authenticated.

It's "Looks" real but what I don't get is why would someone clean a fake coin. It's very apparent .

Hoping for the best for ya, just wanted to pop in and advise against picking it up or balding it by the face. Hold by edges so you don’t leave a finger print mark. If there are fingerprint marks don’t try clean it.

I took a PCGS original from PCGS coin facts and put it side by side with your. The marked up graphic are thing I did not like as far as differences on the coins. Check thicknesses ad shapes of the letters, 8, etc.

I also know I only have th epics you posted and you have a 3D coin in hand. If it were mine I would check out these and look for other details as well. If you take your best pics and put them side by side like I did and start comparing, it makes it not so hard to find problems, but having the coin in hand you can check the pictures are showing the details well enough.

If all I had was the graphic below and I was wanting to buy this coin online, I would personally pass it up.

One disclaimer, I also noted the picture I used of yours was not exactly round. Probably a camera lens anomaly and it could throw things off.

Here you’re comparing a MS to AU coin to a circulated, possible cleaned and banged up coin. So the design details are not going to match either way. You got to compare a like coin image.

hey coin friends,
its not fake had a coin shop look at it but weren't qualified to grade it the gold is real and its hasnt been touch by anyone else for over 70 years it hasn't been cleaned washed or anything it has the proper weight, it was my grandpas he left it in my will. IT hasn't been tampered with or changed in form its just as is
it just a very nice in good conditioned coin
