1991-D Lincoln Memorial Cent uneven thickness?
Searching through a roll to night and came across this Lincoln Memorial Cent. What caught my eye is it is noticeable thinner between 5 and 7 o'clock and tappers thicker to the 11 and 1 o'clock. The strike it self looks normal the coin ways the right weight. I know there is thickness tolerances and I have seen thin cents and thick cents never on that so uneven. I searched error-ref and google and even the forums here but I can't find anything that explains the uneven thickness. Don't know if this is normal or what. Just looking for a explanation if anyone has one. Tired my best to show the thickness difference. And I can't find my dang micrometer.

Re: 1991-D Lincoln Memorial Cent uneven thickness?
Thank you I read about tapered planchet but what threw me off was that it weighs 2.48g and not what I would consider under weight, and all the examples I saw showed weakness at the thin area and this one does not. could this just be a slight taper instead of a more extreme example?

I see several different inconsequential things here.....
Keep in mind that when you take images of the outer rim of the coin, as you have here… Without including any of the obverse or reverse in that image… No one can tell where on the coin that image was taken from

If you look at rolls of cents in a clear plastic tube you will see this all the time.

Only thing I have to add is if that were potentially a valuable coin I wouldn't be holding it with metal tweezers!
