Can you explain why it is not a vice job Paul? I am not doubting. I am interested in what you see that I am missing. I respect your opinions and am eager to learn.

My thinking was:
I see the backwards cent impression wording on the face of the nickel and know this can be duplicated by a typical squeezing in a vice - hence I used the generic term "vice job." Please let me know what I am missing.

You will notice that there is a clear surface contaminant........
possibly glue/nail polish/.....?

And you when you place an additional coin on that surface, you do not need to "squeeze" (using pressure) the 2 together..........
as the additional secondary image is not into the surface of the original coin.

Thanks Paul - you definitely are correct. I missed the glue/whatever it is but went back and could clearly see it.

Hehehe, and I thought I had too much time on my hands. Something that Daniel and Paul have been saying for a long time about stuff like this has to do with learning about the minting process. If we have a clear idea on how coins are minted, we will know immediately that "it's a fake", there is no way it could be real, one sized hammer die on one side and another sized anvil die on the other, ehhhhhhh not so much, so after establishing that, all that is left is a lively dissertation on "vice" or "homicide". Although is seems in 1966 the mint had issues keeping their planchets straight, (no it is not a piece of clothing for those of you from Louisburg NC), so that is neat, but different Dies on each side, or swapped out and restruck, naaah.
