Good evening,
I was searching bank rolled quarters (hunting for W mints) and I came across this older (1995) quarter that looks to be in pretty good shape. I'm having a problem sussing out how to grade this coin. It's obviously circulated as it has several small dings, but the curls on GW's hair are still crisp as well as the feathers on the eagle, to include the arrows. I'm just not sure about the feathers on the edges of the wing tips and the top of the head/neck area. So, I can't place it in UNC as it is circulated, but I figure it may be better than FV?
I hope the images are good enough to help you help me determine where this coin stands in the grading scale. I have really never bothered grading my coins before, so this is all new. I just picked those that if I can read all the letter and numbers/date & mint marks, it was stuck in an album. I am now sorting to replace them with better higher quality/higher graded coins as I find them as I go. Or at least those that look better as long was they are not cleaned or doctored.
Thanks in advance,
Dyna

Re: Grading?
No one can grade your coins in images, we can say looks UNC or circulated but not what grade. You're better off looking up already graded images and photograde to help with that. Coins from circulation are almost always going to be circulated.
Re: Grading?
Ah, I understand, but can I get a ball park idea? Or should I wait until I can take it to a coin show next year where someone can actually handle and look at it?
