1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Our community is not a soap box for complaining or drama, so please refrain from doing so here.[/size]

Getting over the first time gitters
Anyone else have questions and concerns before sending off high dollar coins? I have 4 to send off and honestly really really hate the thought of sending them anywhere. I have a 1688 1/24 real james II plantation and a 1932 D and 1932 S MS+ quarters and a 1914 2.5 indian gold peice and I really hate the idea of not having them in my safe. Does this make sense to anyone?

Go to the USPS website, and read all of the information on "Registered Mail", that should ease your mind
Re: Getting over the first time gitters
It's not really shipping that worries me I'll have them insured with enough to replace them in graded form already lol. My problem is letting them out of the safe out into the world all by themselves
Re: Getting over the first time gitters
Yep, I have that same anxiety all the time. Not so much sending coins out but receiving the ones I bought.

Re: Getting over the first time gitters
Sorry to not help much here, but I once sent a Daniel Carr 1963 overstrike half dollar to a friend through registered mail. He got a piece of the packaging with a note saying they were looking into what happened.
If I had not had the time to hound that specific PO (it was Atlanta) nothing would have been done. My firiend would call, they would say they were looking, and that was all.
I REALLY got the idea they were putting him off hoping he would give it up instead of going through the hassle. And, he DID give up. I told him there was no way I was going to let a coin like that be taken without compensation. I had the time to sit with the speakerphone waiting to "talk to a manager," for hours and would not hang up. After about 2 weeks of constantly hounding that PO and tying up the lines, they finally took responsibility.
Another time I had a registered package of coins worth quite a bit sent to me. I found it strapped to my mailbox with a large rubber band. Anyone could have taken it, and since the PO records had it marked as delivered and had "my signature" as having received it, I would have been out the value.
I notified the local PO, they found out the mailman had signed it and marked it delivered bc they ere to lazy to walk the 15 feet to my front door for me to sign for it. The mailman got nothing but a warning (allegedly). When they repeated this same scenario again, this time the PO made the mailman give me an "apology" letter (a lot of good that would have done had the package been stolen off of the mailbox), that was more of a complaint about how tired the mailman was and he didn't want to have to walk across my lawn to go to the door.
Just FYI!
