Recently I bought an 1877-CC Trade Dollar. On the coin message board I frequent there was some confusion about my Trade Dollar. Some thought it was real, one person thinks it's probably fake. In hand it looks like it had some corrosion on it and was cleaned harshly.
The denticles are a concern on the obverse for some people. But they're not the usual weak denticles you see in a lot of fakes. Looking at it you can see it's worn down. It looks more natural opposed to a weak strike you get with fakes.
It also weighs correctly. The diameter is right and it's passed the Neodymium Magnet Test.

It appears okay on initial look but best to send off to have authenticated, it's too easy to be fooled using images.

Thanks guys for the response. A little stress is relieved.
There's no CUD on the obverse. Must be the way the pic looks.

Re: 1877-CC Trade Dollar
I took your images and images from a PCGS graded 1877 CC Trade dollar. Both images were cropped, using a square crop tool to the edges of the coins. The PCGS coin was resed to yours, tinted red, given transparency, overlaid onto yours, rotated to same angle.
For the REV, I focused on making the Eagle's head line up. This is the pic of the REV overlay shown. I did the same with other points on the coin. If I line up other areas of lettering, the eagle is not correct. On the OBV, the same procedures and then the pic you see is one of the profile being matched up (other tries were with date, stars, and lettering). Also, might we see a pic of the edge of the coin? Typically Chinese fakes have the reeding too precise and square, as well as having to slightly increase the thickness to make the coin weigh properly.
A study using the same techniques on a counterfeit 1879 Morgan I deliberately bought to study:
