is this cleaned?

#1 Unread post by rparker1866 »

hi

im getting paranoid that every thing i have is cleaned.

i think i can see faint scratches on her face and neck.

it seem to me that the type of light you use to look at coins makes a difference.

my magnifying lamp is led. it doesnt seem to work as well as the old fashion lights.

it seem like the brighter the better a 100 watt works better than a 60 watt.

this got like personal now. i gunna figure this out :-)

thanks

Hey R, remember it is not just hairlines, or concentric lines that show rubbing by a cloth or whatever, it is the luster. Two of the main points Daniel brought out were that each mintage can be very different from another, some frostier than others, some more detailed than others and to look for that frosty white that looks like, well, frost, ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Just because it does not have hairlines, does not mean it has not been cleaned, if you dip a coin enough, it will lose the frost, and be a sure giveaway that it has been cleaned.

If you what the details of different Morgan Mints etc. I have included the below recommendation. Daniel might have one in stock, check with him.

I DO NOT collect Morgan or Piece dollars,.......
but being so curious about the whacked out fascination with this coin,..........
I did, buy this book, read it cover to cover, and resell it.

Cleaned could mean a Myriad of different things, sometimes as even Simple as removing the Toning on your Silver. But to Answer your question that Morgan looks like its been cleaned, Yes.
