This is an image of a Morgan currently on eBay. It has a pattern of small, round spots on the surface that look like perhaps they were left by something the coin was previously stored in before it was submitted to NGC for grading. It's quite visible to the left of Liberty's face, especially close to her lips. I have a Morgan recently bought from an online dealer that has the same pattern, although it wasn't noticeable in the online photos of the coin. Can anyone tell me what might have caused this?
Thanks.

It's a textile pattern from the mint bag it was stored in, the cheek was against the canvas bag.
Re: What is the pattern on the face of this Morgan?
Thanks, Daniel. I asked the dealer about it and he also said it was called "textile toning". I've read that there was a huge oversupply of Morgans that sat in storage for a long time, so that makes perfect sense.
