I have a 1964d lincoln cent and was wondering if I should have graded

Don't grade unless the cost of doing so is less than the value of the coin by quite a bit . In my own opinion, unless the coin is worth at least $100 more than the fees than maybe yea if it's an error or MS 66+ ( or better) , which your coin isn't . I, for some weird reason own a MS65 to compare yours to. The reason I say this is my coin is less the grading . Don't know, I won it.

NO! It is very common in that grade and I doubt you could ever sell it for $1

No. this coin is just a common penny. You'd lose a bunch of money on it. You'd be lucky if you could sell that coin GRADED for under a dollar.

I think watching this video should be a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED precursor to posting in this forum. It will save the person posting time in taking pics, figuring how to upload them etc, and save a lot of time with the many posts of this nature.
