1970 S Lincoln Penny

#1 Unread post by Sparkplug »

I found what appears to be several unopen original rolls of 1970 S Lincoln pennies.

Wanted to get some comments on the date. Would this be the small date or large date?

To me the 7 is slightly lower than the (imaginary) horizontal across the top of the numbers making this the large date according the the PCGS comparison images.

Also, would small and large dates be mixed in the same roll?

Awesome, thanks. Looks like they are the large dates.

Can large and small be mixed inan orginal roll?

There is a DDO for the 1970 S. Can that be mixed in an orginal roll?

You never know until you look :)

There are some RPMs to look for also if you like that sort of thing:

Thanks Daniel. You should send that image to PCGS to use. Much easier to see that than trying to figure out the lines as you said in the video.

Now I'm off to look through my 6 rolls for some double dies and RPM's
