What should I do with those 1992 Canadian Commemorative Quarters rolls?

#1 Unread post by Edmarcio »

Hi guys, I'm new here
I'm in Canada. I collect all sorts of Canadian and US coins.
I went to the bank and got those two coin rolls from 1992. They are original from the 'mint' I guess.
Those coins are part of a low mintage series, each roll is full of the same coin (each from two different provinces).
- One is from NW Territories and may contain rare rotated coins that worth 347$ (in MS65).
- The other one is from Prince Edward Island. This one do not worth much, like 31$ (in MS65).
I already have those coins in my coection.

My question is: What should I do with those rolls to take the best advantage of it?
1- Keep them in the rolls and do not sell it? Hopping it may worth way more in the future?
2- Keep them in the rolls and sell it as it is?
3- Open them, to see if there are some rotated ones, save some and sell some separately?
4- Open them, to see if there are some rotated ones, than send the best ones and sent them to PCGS/NGC?
5 - Any better options?

Thank you so much in advance :)

I would hold on to them as they are unless you need the money now. If you sell them, doing so individually should yield a larger return, though more effort on your part.

Thank you for your advise. I know it's my call in the end, I just wanna some insights due to I'm a new collector, may be other options I didn't consider.
So what would you do? That's the reason of the post.

It's in my nature to be curious. If I sold them as is, I would always wonder if I missed one of the rare ones.

That's true lol, I'm like that as well, I'm so curious to see what is inside it. But as I'm new into coin collecting (just a few months in to it) I don't wanna mess things up big time just because I did at least tried to do some research first.
I'm lucky I found you guys and I'm getting a better understanding of it, before doing anything.
