Very nice find. The unworn condition seems to indicate it was stored someplace for a long time.

Amazing this can be found in change 122 years after it was made.

In the 70s my grandfather had laundromats, so we went through about $1000.00 of change each week. Never found a Barber that I remember. The oldest Nickel found was a 1913 Buffalo (but almost all found were dateless), oldest dime a 1916 Mercury, oldest quarters were no date SLQs (never found a dated one!), and the oldest half a 1920-something Walker...at the time these oldest finds were only 54 years old as compared to your 122 year old find!

That's a sweet find. One of my CRH bucket listers for sure. I did find a regular 1909 S once when coin roll hunting. It was in terrible shape but still made my day.

Hours of looking through rolls can sure be a kink in the neck, literally; but it’s also totally worth it.
The way I see it, the more coins I look at the more I will notice an error if I come across one.
And that would be one less email or post for Daniel to answer......Just funning Daniel, I appreciate you.

My best find was a 1922-d penny. I was stoked when I found it. Found a lot of nice 1958+1957 pennies with original luster.
But that's a good one. I have found an 1862 white cent in a customer wrapped penny roll in 2017.
