1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Our community is not a soap box for complaining or drama, so please refrain from doing so here.[/size]

Historical Find !
Found this my 2nd season detecting . 2001 , summer > I was detecting an cellar hole (1700s) when I remember almost giving up. I made my way to the main dirt road when I decide to hit a small grassy area which looked like what was an area they might have parked their wagon . Two minutes in, I got a solid 89 (whites xlt) , I dug everywhere , no object. The signal was still there though and shallow .
I scooped once more and felt a large disk in the hole. I looked at it (reverse side first ) then turned it over .Nuts, I got it with the shovel. IT WAS A FUGIO TOO! They only produced 1 date, 1787.
I soon realized how bad the condition was . It's just a Historical piece now. Living in Connecticut has it advantages .
PLEASE CLICK LINK THANKS.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fugio_cent

Re: Historical Find !
Sal, you're making me jealous. I live in the Keys, so between the salt in the water and the air and the alkaline nature of the soil here, it chews up metal too much to be able to find old coins in decent shape. Heck, I've found what I thought were really old coins only to realize they were shield cents that got left in a salt puddle and were so corroded you could barely read them.
