2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). 1956 D over D wheat penny
Just wondering if this would be a D over D, and how much they are worth. Thank you.

Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
It's a positive D over D RPM, but the grade helps determine the value.
Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
It's a very nice RPM. Repunched Mintmark 1956D-1MM-001
Start every day with a smile and get it over with.
Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
Yup, it's definitely 1956D-1MM-001. The grade is hard to determine but looks maybe F/VF so I would probably put the value at around $5, assuming there is no damage to other areas of the coin.
Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
Nice coin, by the way. That variety is by far the strongest RPM for that year.
Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
I tried to take a pic of the front and back, but it's still in the flip, and I took the pic through my loupe... I am no professional with my cheap camera, but I hope this helps.....
Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
Yes, very nice pictures. I also noticed the die chip on the left wheat stalk above the 'U', it is one of the markers for that coin.
Start every day with a smile and get it over with.
Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
So the grading of F/VF would be pretty accurate then? Thanks for the help everyone...
Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
Just out of curiosity, where did you get it? Was it a roll find or a cherrypick?
Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
I found it in a roll out of a sealed $25 box of pennies from the bank (Brinks). Not sure what a cherrypick is... I always put my Wheat and Indian head pennies in flips, and didn't notice it till I was looking at the date and mint to write it on the flip.RHM22 wrote:Just out of curiosity, where did you get it? Re: 1956 D over D wheat penny
Good find! I define cherrypicking as looking through a dealer's stock in attempt to find an error/variety that has been misclassified. Some people call looking through rolls from the bank cherrypicking. It really depends on who you ask.

The grade is closer to VF35-EF40. Click on the website thumbnail to see the Lincoln Cent grade comparison chart. I'm trying out some new codes I just added, and I really like this on. All you have to do is click the web_site button and enter the website url in between the brackets.

I love RPM's when they have that much seperation ,and you actually can see them with the naked eye when there like that.

RPM for certain, looks like this one http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate ... _state=lds
I can't tell with only partial images. Would be worth a couple dollars in this condition.

Even though this is an old thread it is a nice "easy on the eyes" RPM to spot.
Here are some nice images at this link. Coppercoins
