Japanese cash coins information

#1 Unread post by zakota »

Where is good information on Asian cash coins? I need to sort through all these my father collected. There is one that is near a Chinese coin, but do not remember which one. The only difference between the two is the length of one symbols leg. I have most cataloged. Now the other part. The Asian coins are pluntiful from what I have noticed? I do have some cash coins from 650 gregorian calandar. I have never seen a web site that states values on these coins. Do any of the numismatist's on this site have recomendations? Thank you before hand.

I had hundreds of Asian coins I bought in a collection and I ran into the same problem. I think there's two volume World Coin book that you can find on Amazon or ebay. I have the first volume from 1980, but the values didn't help me out and the new publications are expensive to buy just for the one collection.

As I have mentioned on another post here, that the local dealer buys the books he needs and then resales them to the public when he is finished with them, but he sells them at face value and they are used. I think they try to keep us in the dark on the asian coins. I know that some are worth much money, while others even though they are from near the year 0 are worth only pennies, even though they are in near mint condition. That is one fact I do know. My fathers are not fakes. I can not doubt that some are conterfit, but only a trained eye can catch that since there were many different mints some times.
