1913S type1 or type2

#1 Unread post by Nolifeking »

I know that the reverse on this nickel is in pretty bad shape, but the mint mark is in really good shape and I acid dated the nickel to be a 1913s. Can anybody tell what type the reverse is?

Great find! :yourock: This is a Type I "On A Mound" (Type II is On A Plain) and this is a semi-key date that is $50 in a problem free G4.

Here's more info from my website.

I know it's easy to overlook, but my website has a lot of information. I don't care to answer a thousand questions like this, but this was an opportunity to let others know as well.

Well I was hoping for a type 2, but I'll take a type 1 any day. Thanks for the links to more info. I checked these out earlier before I posted, but I still couldn't tell on this one because of the poor condition of the reverse. That's why I asked for a second opinion
