Hey y’all! First off thank you for your time and input it is very much appreciated!! So I bought several coins that were listed as scrap silver and They are being shipped to me now but I couldn’t wait to get someone else’s opinion on these! I will make a separate topic for all 3 coins. The coin at hand in this topic is a 1935 clipped piece dollar with what looks like a double strike of some sort… to the left of the liberty head you will notice some letters… Now Given the other coins that were in this I am fairly certain this is not tampered with. But what do you all think? Notice anything? Thoughts on value? Or do you think I’m an idiot who just bought a coin that’s been ran over by a car then chewed on by a grizzly bear that bit a chunk off and spit it back out? Anyways, thank you for your time and please let me know what you think!

Re: Do you think this 1935 Peace dollar’s clipping is original? Also notice the lettering overlayed?
Looks like Post Mint damage to me . I'll wait for more answers though .

How did the letters get on the surface? It’s hard to see it’s to the left of the face… anyways thanks for your feedback! I never get to excited with cool looking coins anymore. I buy coins expecting to lose money. It’s like everything in life, you have to loose money and fail 100 times before you gain the experience to be successful at it. It’s part of the process, you know? Yeah, you can read blogs and books but nothing teaches better then the sting of learning the hard way! I say all this because I See so many people get mad when they get told it’s not what they think it is. Alright, ima get back to buying worthless junk and maybe one of these days I’ll find something that’s actually cool.

Sorry, you can tell it was a polar bear by the way the nibbling on the edge is. Grizzly bear front teeth are relatively more forward than a polar bear's so Grizzley nibbling would have had more of a curved, rather than straight edge.
Seriously though...I agree with Paul on the "lettering"...pareidolia. And the edge is just where someone had extra time and some tools.

Could be a fake that someone broke or tried to create a fake broken planchet.
