This looks more like a lamination issue in the image you have posted here

That's a tough one to say here....
Take a look at the date, notice how the lifting lamination has (with circulation wear), malformed the 3rd digit......

I find delamination coins in circulation all the time and they're very common. So it is false to claim they're not usually found in circulation.

you misunderstood- delamination errors in circulation are not particularly rare, but buffalo nickels in circulation are. And due to the way probability works, the chance of finding a delamination error that is also a buffalo nickel in circulation would be the chance of finding a buffalo nickel multiplied by the chance of finding a delamination error(in theory at least)

One could find hundreds of buffalo nickels in circulation or go through a bulk bin containing hundreds of buffalo nickels and find one or two delamination errors(depending on how thorough the owner of the bin is). But how many rolls would one have to go through to find hundreds of buffalo nickels?? Likely thousands

In other words, it might not be rare in the grand scheme of things, or even for buffalo nickels in general, but it is quite rare for coins in circulation that happen to be both buffalo nickels and have a delamination error

Don't forget Daniel is a very well respected and very knowledgeable Coin Dealer and owner of this site. I would take what Daniel say about this coin as gospel. He would not put what he did about this coin if he wasn't sure.

Relevance.

Delams are common in circulation...yes.

Finding specifically a Buffalo made ~100 year ago with a delam in modern pocket change?

Well, I certainly would not mind it. Doesn't happen to me.
