1949 Roosevelt dime is this toning and is it worth sending in to grade?

#1 Unread post by Woodennickles »

Hi,
So I am extremely new to coin collecting and have really taken to the hobby I am enjoying it immensely. I recently fell into a suitcase full of silver coins and such that had been sitting in a closet of my in-laws for a few years and am doing my best to absorb all of what is actually here. There are a lot.. well at least to me a lot of really cool really old coins and I would like to have some of them graded. Of particular interest to me is a dime found in a tube full of mercury and silver dimes that had some interesting coloration to it. I think its toning but being a novice I do not want to get overly excited and I really would like to send some of the best of the best in on the vouchers I got with my PCGS membership so I was hoping to get some advice. Mr. Daniel I have immensely enjoyed your videos and appreciate all the help and advice you have given probably prevented me from overenthusiastically making several mistakes on purchasing coins. Anyways here are some pics I really hope I learn some good stuff.

I wouldn't send it in . The Value of the coin is less then the cost of slabbing it . I hope this helps . I also recommend buying this book to better familiarize yourself with coins.
